CAMP HILL, Pa. — For the eighth consecutive year, Rite Aid Corp. is serving as the presenting sponsor of the Skin Cancer Foundation’s annual Road to Healthy Skin Tour.

For the eighth consecutive year, Rite Aid Corp. is serving as the presenting sponsor of the Skin Cancer Foundation’s annual Road to Healthy Skin Tour.

The tour runs through late August and offers free private screenings to the public with the help of local dermatologist volunteers and will visit Rite Aid locations in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

The tour will provide full body and potentially lifesaving skin cancer screenings from the privacy of one of two exam rooms inside a customized 38-foot recreational vehicle. As the Skin Cancer Foundation’s flagship early detection program, the tour also aims to raise skin cancer awareness and educate the public about the importance of prevention and early detection.

"Offering unique health and wellness opportunities, such as skin cancer screenings, to our patients in the communities we serve is a top priority at Rite Aid," said Rite Aid senior vice president of pharmacy operations Dan Miller. "Rite Aid is proud to continue its sponsorship of the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Road to Healthy Skin Tour as we work together to potentially save lives and offer valuable education on skin cancer prevention to our communities."

New to the RV, visitors this year have the opportunity to learn about Receutics Active Skin Repair, a new line of over-the-counter, dermatologically tested skin care products developed exclusively for Rite Aid. The 10-piece line offers affordable, effective treatment for many common skin care conditions including acne clearing, therapeutic relief, sun care and antiaging. Receutics is available in over 500 stores, including Rite Aid locations throughout the tour, and online at www.receutics.com.

Since 2008, the tour has screened more than 20,000 people and detected more than 8,500 suspected cancers and precancers, including more than 350 suspected melanomas. Over its seven years, the tour has traveled more than 128,000 miles.
