WASHINGTON — The Retail Litigation Center (RLC) has appointed Josh Moore as its new Vice President of Litigation, reinforcing the organization’s leadership in advancing retailers’ legal interests in state and federal courts.
Moore brings extensive experience in appellate and trial litigation. He previously served as a trial attorney in the National Courts Section of the Civil Division at the U.S. Department of Justice, clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and practiced at Sidley Austin LLP. He earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.A. from Centre College.
“We are thrilled to welcome Josh to the RLC team,” said Monica Welt, incoming General Counsel of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) and incoming President of the RLC. “Josh’s experience and insight will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for sound legal policy and defend the interests of retailers—America’s largest private sector employer—in state and federal courts.”
“I am honored to join the Retail Litigation Center and look forward to working alongside such a talented team to champion the legal interests of retailers nationwide,” said Moore. “Together, we will strive to address the challenges facing the industry and ensure that the retail industry’s voice is heard in the courts.”
Founded in 2010 as the independent legal arm of RILA, the RLC has filed more than 250 amicus briefs on issues ranging from arbitration and premises liability standards to combating organized retail crime.
The leadership transition comes as Deborah White, RLC President and RILA General Counsel, prepares to step down following next week’s Retail Law Conference
“As I prepare to leave RILA and the RLC after next week’s Retail Law Conference, I am truly excited to pass the RLC baton to Monica and Josh,” said White. “The RLC is the voice of the retail industry in the judiciary, and its charge will be critically important to retailers in the years ahead.”
