Sam’s Club is offering a suite of services designed to free small business owners from such time-consuming tasks as managing their payrolls and finding employee health plans.
"America’s small business owners are constantly strapped for time," says Sam’s Club president and chief executive officer Rosalind Brewer. "To help, we’ve enhanced our suite of business member benefits to bring big-business benefits to small business owners at a value they deserve."
Sam’s Club has joined with health insurance giant Aetna, for example, to create what it calls the first mass retail supported private health exchange designed for small business owners and their employees. Initially available in 18 states, the new exchange is designed to “provide more choice and more convenience to our members,” notes Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president of health and wellness.
Sam’s Club has also teamed up with Execupay to provide payroll services to its small business members, and with LegalZoom to offer affordable legal solutions.
