Save Mart reopens reimagined Turlock store, marking more than 50 years in the California community

“We’re excited to bring Turlock an even better shopping experience while staying true to the local values our customers know and trust.”

Turlock, Calif. The Save Mart Companies celebrated the grand re-opening of its renovated Save Mart supermarket in Turlock on Wednesday, unveiling an upgraded store design and expanded services for the Central Valley community it has served since 1972.

The 2595 Geer Road location now features an expanded produce and fresh meat department, a broader wine and spirits section, upgraded digital pickup services, and a focus on locally sourced everyday items. Executives described the remodeled store as part of the company’s commitment to elevating the customer experience while staying rooted in community ties.

“We’re excited to bring Turlock an even better shopping experience while staying true to the local values our customers know and trust,” said Daniel Moore, group vice president of operations. “This re-opening is our way of saying thank you to a community that’s supported us for more than 50 years.”

The grand re-opening drew large crowds, with the first 100 shoppers receiving free grocery bags. A ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together Save Mart leadership and local dignitaries, while the company donated $7,500 to five community groups: Turlock Hornets Youth Cheer, Turlock Unified School District, SCOE Homelessness and Food Insecurity Resources, Turlock Community Theatre, and Turlock Gospel Mission.

Festivities also included product sampling from Sunnyside Farms Ice Cream and a grocery bagging competition between Turlock’s police and fire departments. Proceeds benefited Operation Blue Santa and Random Acts of Kindness, while groceries and $1,000 in gift cards from the contest were donated to the CSU Stanislaus Warrior Food Pantry. Combined with the initial donations, Save Mart’s total charitable contributions for the event reached $13,606.

The company says the celebration will continue with family-friendly programming throughout August, including the “Snack to School Showdown” hosted by the Turlock Moms Club on August 23. The store will also feature weekly product sampling and Friday giveaways.

Customers can take advantage of promotional offers through September 16, such as five times the loyalty points on qualifying purchases and $40 off first-time online pickup orders. The store also continues to extend weekly discounts to seniors and to Stanislaus State students with a valid ID.

The Save Mart Companies operates 194 Save Mart, Lucky, and FoodMaxx stores in California and Western Nevada, along with 11 Roth’s and Chuck’s Fresh Markets in Oregon and Washington.
