PHOENIX — The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation has announced the launch of its 2025 Grants Program, committing $3 million in funding to support more than 500 grassroots organizations dedicated to nutrition education, food access, and community wellness across the country.
With individual grants of up to $10,000 available, the program targets nonprofit organizations in areas served by Sprouts Farmers Market stores. Applications are open now through June 18, 2025.
“At Sprouts, our purpose is to help people live and eat better, and we’re proud to support the incredible work of local nonprofits who are doing just that,” said Jack Sinclair, CEO of Sprouts Farmers Market.
This year’s funding is available across three program areas:
- Sprouting School Gardens – Supporting school-based gardening programs that teach students about nutrition through hands-on learning.
- Growing Healthy Kids – Aiding community-based programs that improve children’s access to nutritious foods and promote healthy lifestyles.
- Wellness Across the Lifespan – Backing initiatives focused on adult wellness, including nutrition education and preventive health strategies.
The Foundation emphasizes partnerships with local organizations that already have deep ties to their communities. “We know that small, local organizations are often the ones making the biggest difference,” said Lyndsey Waugh, executive director of the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation. “These grants are about supporting the amazing work already happening on the ground—from school gardens and cooking classes to mobile pantries and family wellness programs.”
In 2024, the Foundation awarded $4 million to 580 nonprofits and schools through a coordinated grant delivery event involving team members at all 423 Sprouts stores. The initiative is funded entirely by Sprouts’ in-store Round Upprogram, where 100% of customer donations stay in local communities to support health and wellness initiatives.
Since its founding in 2015, the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation has awarded over $35 million in grants, with an estimated 3 million children participating in supported programs each year. With plans to more than double its grantmaking reach in the coming years, the Foundation is positioning itself as a growing force in community-based nutrition and health education.
