NEW YORK — Beth Stiller, group vice president of retail brands and global sourcing at Walgreens, is leaving the company to join Massage Envy as chief operating officer.

A former Duane Reade executive, Stiller played a key role in the creation of the first Walgreens flagship store — a Duane Reade outlet at 40 Wall Street in New York’s financial district. Stiller had joined Duane Reade in 2008, two years before its acquisition by Walgreens.

Before joining Duane Reade, she worked for Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaw Cos.

“I’ve been blessed to be involved with several businesses that were undergoing real transformations,” Stiller said some years ago.

The move to Massage Envy will reunite Stiller with former Walgreens executive vice president Joe Magnacca.

In January, Magnacca was named CEO of Massage Envy, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based therapeutic massage and skin care service franchisor with more than 1,100 locations in the U.S.

Stiller worked with Magnacca at both Shoppers Drug Mart and Duane Reade, as well as at Walgreens.
