Target Corp has expanded the roles of a number of its top executives, in a move chairman and chief executive officer Brian Cornell says is intended to help the retailer continue to accelerate its business, fuel its digital transformation and enhance the guest experience.

"With these changes, we are even better positioned to continue to drive the momentum in our business in 2015 and beyond," said Cornell.

Target is also creating a center of excellence under Carl’s aegis to accelerate and strengthen its data, analytics and business intelligence capabilities. That effort will be led by Paritosh Desai in the new role of senior vice president of enterprise data, analytics and business intelligence.

Target chief marketing officer Jeff Jones will take on the additional responsibility of leading work in developing the guest experience across all channels and touch points.
