MINNEAPOLIS — Target Corporation said its team members contributed 1 million volunteer hours in 2025, the 10th time the company has reached the milestone, and outlined expanded community investments for 2026 as part of its long-standing commitment to local impact.
To celebrate its anniversary, Target is investing $1 million in Bullseye Builds, its flagship program that combines employee volunteer efforts with the company’s design expertise to refresh shared community spaces such as parks, schools, and resource centers. In 2026, Target and nonprofit partners will select 13 neighborhoods nationwide for reimagined community spaces tailored to locally identified needs.
The announcement aligns with priorities set by newly appointed CEO Michael Fiddelke to focus on Target’s strengths in style and design, and on its workforce, to support the nearly 2,000 communities the retailer serves. Target employs more than 400,000 team members across the U.S.
Beyond Bullseye Builds, Target stated that its 2025 volunteer efforts reached communities in all 50 states and complemented its year-round giving model, which includes dedicating 5% of company profits to communities through product donations, cash, and the Target Foundation.
The retailer is also mobilizing resources in its home state of Minnesota in collaboration with organizations like Greater Twin Cities United Way and Second Harvest Heartland. Local efforts include hands-on volunteer activities, donations, and the use of Target GiftCards to buy essential food, clothing, and household items for nonprofit partners.
Target’s community strategy is further strengthened by long-standing national partnerships with organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and Feeding America, along with locally driven initiatives led by team member community captains.
Since 1946, Target has allocated 5% of its profits to communities, a legacy that now provides millions of dollars weekly in financial support, products, and services for nonprofit partners nationwide.
