CRN welcomes new members, including ingredient, technology, and law firms

WASHINGTON – The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, has added new members during the second and third quarters of 2024. Including these companies further emphasizes CRN’s dedication to fostering innovation, regulatory compliance, and scientific advancement within the industry, the trade group says.

The new voting members are:

  • Anderson Advanced Ingredients is an Irvine, Calif-based provider of functional food and nutraceutical ingredients. Since its first product launch in 1989, Anderson Advanced Ingredients has provided novel clean label solutions to industry-wide challenges while offering an innovative foundation in advancing R&D projects from concept to reality. Led by legacy products MoisturLOK and EnergySMART, the company portfolio features brands such as FiberSMART, AllSWEET, MctSMART, CherryPURE and GuaranaSOL.
  • Indus Biotech Limited, based in Pune, India, is a pioneer in developing patented, innovative nutraceutical ingredients (and other healthcare products) from food chain biomasses. Indus Biotech has been granted 212 patents globally, has published more than 92 studies in peer-reviewed journals, and has completed more than 34 human clinical trials on its products, addressing blood sugar management, hormonal health, stress, weight management and sports nutrition.
  • Nisarga Biotech, based in Satara, India, established in 1998, is an ingredient manufacturer specializing in CO2 extracts, essential oils, branded ingredients and standardized botanical powder extracts of Indian origin. They have an in-house product development lab developing over 300 products for 80 clients across the world. The company’s certifications include USDA and EU organic, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001:2015, Halal, Kosher, For Life certifications underscoring their commitment to quality and sustainability.
  • Nuseed Nutritional, a West Sacramento, California, company, is nourishing the world with global leadership in agricultural innovation. Nutriterra Total Omega-3 is purposefully designed for human nutrition from Nuseed Omega-3 Canola, the world’s first plant-based source of DHA, EPA, DPA, and ALA.   • Specnova specializes in cutting-edge delivery system technologies, including liposomal ingredients and encapsulation systems. The company’s focus on advanced delivery technologies, such as NovaQspheres, positions Specnova as a leading innovator in bioavailability and efficacy improvements in nutraceutical formulations and delivery systems.

The new Associate members are:

  • IngredientAI is a generative AI and technology company built for the nutraceutical industry. Started by the co-founder and CTO of Care/of, IngredientAI helps both brands and suppliers launch new products sooner and faster with turbocharged formulation research, ingredient discovery, claims substantiation, dossier generation, and more.
  • IniTech is a lean-centric engineering firm with a focus on optimizing manufacturing processes. Their expertise in batch processing allows dietary supplement manufacturers to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, ensure quality while meeting compliance requirements.  IniTech brings its lean-centric engineering to workflow balance, constraints analysis and impact reductions, tracking of raw material to finished goods and the streamlining of regulatory compliance. Often, inTech’s customers cannot pass along increases in material and compliance costs through as price increases to their own customers.  Therefore, continuous improvements in efficiency and controlling operational costs are critical to sustaining profitability. IniTech believes that when it comes to automation, that compliance and efficiency are not mutually exclusive. Their scope of work extends from analyzing and improving existing processes, plant expansions to the complete design and building of new sites.
