JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Ahead of Memorial Day, The Winn-Dixie Co. is rallying its associates, customers and communities to honor the courage, sacrifice and service of America’s military members and the families who stand beside them. In partnership with the USO, the grocer is launching an in-store community donation program to help provide meals, family support services and emergency assistance across military communities in Florida and southern Georgia.
Now through June 16, customers can donate $1, $5 or round up their total at checkout while shopping their neighborhood Winn-Dixie store. Funds raised will help the USO deliver food assistance, critical resources and emergency response support, including hurricane relief efforts, to service members and military families.

Florida and Georgia have a strong military presence, including several major military installations and one of the nation’s largest populations of active-duty, reserve and veteran service members. As a longtime hometown grocer serving these communities, The Winn-Dixie Company is proud to support military members, veterans and their families through its ongoing partnership with the USO and year-round community initiatives.

This community donation program builds on The Winn-Dixie Company’s longstanding commitment to supporting military families and strengthening the communities it serves. In 2025, the grocer partnered with the USO to help provide more than 600 Thanksgiving meals to military families in Jacksonville and Tampa and surprise military spouses across Florida with bouquets and gift cards ahead of Mother’s Day in honor of Military Spouse Appreciation Day. The Winn-Dixie Company also donated $50,000 to the USO in partnership with DLJ Produce to further support military communities across the region.
The Winn-Dixie Company remains committed to supporting service members, veterans and military families through ongoing efforts focused on food assistance, family support services and emergency response needs.
All Winn-Dixie grocery and liquor stores will be open during regular business hours on Memorial Day, May 25, to serve customers throughout the holiday weekend.
