Tops Friendly Markets has completed its acquisition of four Big M supermarkets in upstate New York.
The acquired stores, located in Boonville, Watertown, Sandy Creek and Adams, N.Y., expand Tops’ penetration of northern and central New York state. Each of the stores will be remodeled and converted to the Tops banner by late June. All 280 employees at the stores have been offered continued employment with Tops.
"We are excited about this growth opportunity for Tops, as we bring these new stores into the Tops family," says Frank Curci, president and chief executive officer of Tops. "These stores are a natural addition to our current footprint, and we look forward to meeting the needs of our new neighbors and customers, providing them with a positive shopping experience that focuses on variety, freshness, convenience and exceptional value."
