DEERFIELD, Ill. — Tracey Koller is a retail leader with more than 30 years of leadership experience across merchandising, marketing, operations and enterprise transformation. In her role as chief merchandising officer at Walgreens, she is leading a transformation of the front-of-store experience, while also driving the company’s strategic merchandising imperatives.

Previously, Koller was chief merchandising officer and chief transformation and strategy officer for Party City Holdings, and she served as executive vice president and chief retail officer of a News Corp. marketing subsidiary overseeing retail strategy, digital in-store and merchandising service divisions.

She also served for 17 years in various leadership roles at Target Corp. At Target, she led several merchandising divisions, merchandising expense optimization and health care/pharmacy operations in the U.S. and Canada. She also led the transformation for a more integrated omnichannel experience across the enterprise. Earlier in her career, she was part of a retail chain start-up venture.

She currently serves on the board of directors for BMB Brewing and holds advisory roles across e-learning and consumer products companies. Koller is also an active angel investor in several start-ups and venture capital funds.

“I have been very fortunate to have had so many career opportunities, over the last three decades, to lead teams through building businesses from the ground up, growing existing ones and pivoting others in a new direction,” she says. “But, honestly, the most rewarding moments have been the most difficult ones. Every experience has given me invaluable learning on how to be a better leader, partner and team member.”
