Tractor Supply, Starlink and 4-H partner to support rural youth

Initiative aims to bridge digital divide in rural communities and support local 4-H youth leadership programs.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Tractor Supply Co., Starlink, and 4-H are expanding a partnership aimed at improving internet access in rural communities while raising money for youth programs.

Starlink will donate the value of the first month of subscription service for eligible Starlink kits purchased from Tractor Supply through November 15 and activated during the promotional period. The money will go to the National 4-H Council to support local programs focused on education, STEM and workforce development.

Shoppers can find Starlink kits alongside tools, feed, and lawn and garden products at their local Tractor Supply store, where employees are available to answer questions about getting connected, the specialty retailer said in announcing the partnership.

“Serving Life Out Here means helping our customers bring reliable internet home and investing in the young people growing up in their communities. Every eligible kit our customers pick up this fall does both,” said Hal Lawton, president and CEO of Tractor Supply. “Providing rural communities with reliable broadband isn’t just about connectivity – it’s about giving the next generation the tools to thrive in their hometowns.”

With more than 2,400 stores nationwide, Tractor Supply is the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the country.

Eligible Starlink kits will generate a donation equal to the value of the customer's first month of subscription service. Customers buying a Starlink Standard or Starlink Mini in a Tractor Supply store can also receive an additional $50 discount by activating the kit before checkout and showing proof of activation. The discount is available only for in-store purchases.

Starlink is the world’s most advanced satellite constellation in low-Earth orbit, delivering reliable broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, and video calls. Starlink is engineered and operated by SpaceX.

4-H, the nation’s largest youth development organization, grows confident young people who are empowered for life today and prepared for careers tomorrow.

The broadband partnership also ties into 4-H's Beyond Ready initiative, through which the organization aims to reach 10 million young people annually by 2030.  Some 12 million young people lack broadband internet access at home, according to 4-H.
