MONROVIA, Calif. — Trader Joe’s is planning to open eight new locations across the U.S., adding several locations to its “coming soon” list.
The California-based grocer currently operates in 42 states, leaving Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Mississippi, and West Virginia without locations.
Last week, Trader Joe's announced six new stores planned for Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Kansas and Washington. Those additions build on two locations previously revealed in July 2025 for Louisiana and Texas,
“We are actively looking at hundreds of neighborhoods across the country as we hope to open more new neighborhood stores each year,” a Trader Joe’s spokesperson told Nexstar reported in USA Today.

Earlier this month, Trader Joe’s opened two new stores in the Northeast, with locations in Hamden, Conn., and Miller Place, N.Y.
