FENTON, Mich. — SpartanNash has revealed a fresh new look and feel for its VG’s Grocery store in Fenton, Michigan, highlighting a significant investment in the community and the shopping experience. The renovated store at 18005 Silver Parkway now features a sleek, modern design along with expanded options that reflect both customer preferences and VG’s strong local roots.

The remodeled store highlights SpartanNash’s commitment to providing high-quality food solutions that balance innovation, convenience, and community connection. “We’re excited to bring new energy to VG’s Grocery,” said Brandon Pasch, vice president of center store merchandising for SpartanNash. “This redesign is more than just a facelift—it’s a reflection of our dedication to the quality and freshness that our VG’s store guests know and love. From curated selections and premium offerings to a sleek, contemporary design, every detail reflects our commitment to the Fenton community.”

Store guests who attended the grand reopening discovered an atmosphere that reflects the hallmarks of premium grocery shopping: freshness, convenience and an unwavering commitment to quality.

A Fresh, Elevated Shopping Experience

The redesigned VG features a host of new amenities, wider aisles, and thoughtful category enhancements meant to make shopping easier and more enjoyable. Notable upgrades include:

  • Expanded meat department with premium selections, including choice, prime, and dry-aged beef.
  • Refreshed seafood counter and enhanced produce section, featuring expanded organic selections, fresh-cut produce, and a new “clip-your-own-fresh-herbs” station.
  • Upscale bakery offering artisan breads, custom cakes, and an expanded donut lineup—made fresh daily in-store.
  • Full-service floral department with custom arrangements and seasonal bouquets.
  • Doubled beer, wine, and liquor section with a wider variety of high-end and local selections.
  • Center store upgrades spotlighting local favorites, nostalgic candies, and regionally sourced products.
  • Improved accessibility, with lowered merchandising heights and open sightlines to improve navigation and visibility throughout the store.

To create a more personalized experience, SpartanNash used store-level analytics and customer feedback to localize the assortment. Shoppers will notice the addition of fresh new features tailored to Fenton’s preferences, including a Caesar salad bar with house-made dressings and croutons, an upgraded online shopping system, and the highly anticipated return of the customer-favorite guacamole station.

Celebrating Community and Connection

The grand reopening event showcased the same community spirit that has characterized VG’s Grocery for over fifty years. Guests were greeted by a local string quartet while sampling regional and local products throughout the store. Outside, families enjoyed fall-themed activities such as Plinko, pumpkin painting, face painting, and a beanbag toss.

“Today is a celebration of our new store—but it’s also a celebration of our associates,” said Chris Palmer, VG’s Store Director. “Their energy and enthusiasm are what made this remodel such a success. VG’s Grocery has proudly served the Fenton community for more than 50 years and has been part of countless milestones—high school graduations, college send-offs, holiday gatherings, and everyday meals. This store is more than a place to shop—it’s part of the fabric of this community.”

As part of the festivities, the VG’s team donated $5,000 to Fenton High School, continuing SpartanNash’s longstanding support for local organizations and educational initiatives.

Continuing a Legacy of Service

The Fenton remodel highlights SpartanNash’s broader goal to provide outstanding grocery experiences across its family of stores while emphasizing local identity and customer engagement. VG’s Grocery has been a staple in the region for decades, and the updated space combines modern features with the trusted quality shoppers expect.

“With these exciting updates, we’re reaffirming our commitment to delivering the exceptional experiences and local connections that have defined VG’s Grocery for generations,” Pasch said.
