In addition, executive vice president of pharmacy services Kermit Crawford and Mark Wagner, executive vice president of operations and community management, have been named president of their respective divisions.
As a result of the realignment, vice president of merchandising Bryan Pugh and Kim Feil, vice president and chief marketing officer, report to Wagner.
Crawford now oversees Colin Watts, the drug store chain’s vice president of new product development and chief innovation officer.
Vice president of corporate affairs and communications Chuck Greener reports to Dana Green, senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. And Laura Merten, divisional vice president of loss prevention and profit sharing and chief compliance and privacy officer, is supervised by senior vice president and chief human resources officer Kathleen Wilson-Thompson.
Sources close to the company indicate that, in addition to improving execution throughout the chain, the restructuring should make Walgreens more nimble and strengthen the alignment of initiatives across the organization.
