His departure, effective January 31, was announced — along with a number of other personnel moves — in an internal e-mail from Walmart U.S. chief executive officer Greg Foran.
Most of the moves involve appointments to groups known within Walmart as "work streams."
Jane Ewing, senior vice president, business development, at Walmart U.S., will lead the "Next Generation Stock-up" work stream. Jeff McAllister, senior vice president of Walmart Innovations, will lead the "Next Generation Supply Chain" work stream, and Latriece Watkins, senior vice president, snacks and beverages, at Walmart U.S., will lead the "Ways of Working" work stream.
Laura Phillips, senior vice president, entertainment, at Walmart U.S., has been named senior vice president of Omni-Channel Assortments.
"In her new role, she will support our enterprise strategy ‘Compelling Merchandise’ work stream, where she will help us win key categories by leveraging our store and e-commerce capabilities in a more unified way," Foran said. "She will continue reporting to Andy Barron, executive vice president, soft lines at Walmart U.S."
With Phillips’ move, Walmart U.S. has named Greg Hall senior vice president of entertainment.
Filling Hall’s previous role as senior vice president of hard lines is Terry Price, a 22-year Walmart veteran who is returning to Walmart after having left the company in 2003.
In addition to Aden, Walmart also announced the planned departure of Bryan Miller, who is retiring from the company at the end of the month. Most recently senior vice president of human resources, Miller has been with Walmart since 1998.
