BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart is in the process of seeking buyers for its vacant health clinics, according to published reports.
In April, Walmart announced the closure of all its medical centers and telehealth services, adding that its pharmacies at retail centers will continue to operate as normal. Walmart Health had 51 dedicated primary and urgent care centers in multiple states before they were shut down.
Walmart recently sold MeMD—its virtual care and telehealth division—to technology company Fabric. Fortune, citing people familiar with the matter, has reported that said multiple health insurance companies, Humana, have expressed interest in buying brick-and-mortar health centers.
