BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart promises a season of savings designed to make shopping for gifts and celebrating the holidays more affordable.

With 92% of Walmart customers expressing some level of concern about inflation1 and how it will impact holiday celebrations, the retailer says it is doubling down on its commitment to saving customers more money.

Walmart officially kicked off its holiday season on Wednesday, announcing:

  • Unprecedented savings: Over the past year, Walmart saved its customers more than $1 billion on seasonal baskets and Rollbacks, from Thanksgiving to Easter to the back-to-school season. Saving customers money is in Walmart’s DNA, and at a time when customers need it most, the retailer is pulling out all the stops this holiday season to again deliver unprecedented savings.
  • Inflation fighting: Starting Nov.1, Walmart is again removing inflation to offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal on customers’ favorite brands at an even lower price than last year, making it even easier and more affordable for customers to set their holiday table so they can focus on what matters, spending time with loved ones.
  • Unmatched convenience and assortment: Walmart is delivering exceptional value this holiday, no matter when, where or how customers shop. The company is offering even deeper savings with more frequent deals on top of its Every Day Low Prices on an expanded assortment of must-have gifts from top brands. An improved shopping experience with expanded pickup and delivery options make shopping easier, faster and more fun, from Black Friday to Cyber Monday to last-minute gifts.

“Saving money remains a top priority for our customers, and this holiday season, we’re building on the investments we made last year knowing they need it now more than ever,” said John Furner, president and chief executive officer, Walmart U.S. “We’re better positioned than ever before to deliver on our purpose, to help customers save money and live better, especially during the most exciting time of the year. We’re ready to deliver the omni shopping experience we know our customers want and need, it’s going to be a great holiday season at Walmart.”

Celebrating A Year of Saving Customers Money

In the face of record-breaking inflation last year, Walmart made significant investments on top of its everyday low prices to offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal at 2021’s price – and the retailer didn’t stop there. Walmart made additional investments throughout the year, from Easter to summer to back-to-school so customers could focus on celebrating life’s most exciting moments.

Walmart’s saved customers more than $1 billion over the last year, at a time when customers needed it most, underscoring Walmart’s commitment to help customers save money and live better.

Even Bigger Thanksgiving Meal Savings – Starting Nov. 1

To meet customers’ needs, Walmart is offering two Thanksgiving meal options at an even lower price than last year, one with ingredients for customers who like to cook from scratch, and one for customers who like more convenient, ready-to-bake options.

Walmart’s Thanksgiving meal includes customers’ favorites and fixings including many national brands, from turkey (for under $1/lb.!) and ham to stuffing and pumpkin pie. Best of all, customers can effortlessly purchase these meal baskets with a single click on Walmart.com or the Walmart app for quick and easy pickup or delivery in as soon as 30 minutes and up to 90 minutes.

No matter when, where or how customers prefer to shop, they can feel confident Walmart will have a strong supply of in-stock turkeys, hams and all the fixings at even better prices than last year.
