Michelle Gloeckler was promoted to the position of executive vice president of consumables and U.S. manufacturing.
John Aden is assuming a new role as executive vice president of innovation for Walmart U.S.
The appointments were made to accelerate growth and boost efficiency, Duncan Mac Naughton, chief merchandising officer for Walmart U.S., said in a company memo that was obtained by Bloomberg News, which reported on the reshuffling on June 23.
Seven of the 13 executives named are women, Bloomberg reported.
Huff most recently oversaw consumables for Walmart U.S. He joined Walmart as an intern in 1994.
Gloeckler spent the past five years as head of the home division at Walmart U.S. Among her responsibilities was to increase product sourcing from U.S. manufacturers. Last year Walmart pledged to support U.S. manufacturing by buying an additional $50 billion worth of American-made goods over the next decade.
Doug McMillon has been trying to boost the company’s U.S. sales since taking over as Walmart’s chief executive officer on February 1.
