Three Walmart suppliers have made manufacturing commitments that will create a total of 385 jobs in the United States.
The announcement was made by Walmart U.S. president and chief executive officer Bill Simon and Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker at the Select USA Summit here.
The three suppliers are Elan-Polo Inc., a footwear maker and 35-year Walmart supplier; EveryWare Global Inc., a bakeware, beverageware, tabletop and glassware manufacturer; and Louis Hornick & Co., which produces and imports window coverings and home textiles.
"Today’s announcement is a great example of the progress that’s being made, and it highlights opportunities that exist for manufacturers to invest in the U.S.A. by re-shoring or expanding their manufacturing in America," said Simon. "Companies, government officials and industry leaders are working together to increase manufacturing, and these efforts are helping more Americans get into good-paying jobs and more businesses reinvest in the U.S. economy."
