ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wegmans Food Markets plans to continue expanding in 2025. The grocery chain will open three new stores, including two in new markets.

Each store will offer Wegmans’ hallmark shopping experience, featuring extensive departments for sushi, pizza, salads, seafood, and more. It will also have drive-through curbside pickup lanes for online and Meals-To-Go orders. All three stores are scheduled to open before the end of the year and will operate daily from 6 a.m. to midnight.

The Lake Grove, N.Y. location, Wegmans’ first on Long Island, will open on February 26, 2025. The 101,000-square-foot store will create over 500 jobs, mostly for local residents. In addition to its signature departments, the store will include a Market Café with an array of ready-to-eat options, such as sushi, poke bowls, and hot self-serve dishes.

The company said convenience will be a priority at the store, noting that it will feature 14 full-service and 14 self-checkout registers, as well as a separate checkout area for café customers. Parking won’t be a concern, as the store will offer 630 spaces. An architectural highlight is that the store’s clock tower will become the highest point in Lake Grove.

During the second quarter, Wegmans will open a 92,000-square-foot store in Norwalk, Conn. This store will feature 13 full-service and 15 self-checkout registers, as well as the same Market Café offerings as Lake Grove. A unique addition is a two-story parking deck with 551 spaces, complete with solar canopies and 12 Tesla charging stations. A bridge will take customers from the parking deck into a mezzanine-level entrance to the store.

Later in 2025, Wegmans will open its ninth Maryland store, which will be located in Rockville’s Twinbrook Quarter Community. The 80,000-square-foot store promises to bring more than 500 jobs to the area. Two levels of parking beneath the store will ensure accessibility for shoppers.

Wegmans’ continued expansion underscores its commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality products and unparalleled service. As the company enters new markets and strengthens its presence in existing ones, it remains focused on providing customers with a premier shopping experience.
