Sunbury, Pa. — Weis Markets marked the grand opening of a new 60,000-square-foot supermarket in Charlotte Hall, Md., its 51st location in the state, with a preview event and ribbon-cutting ceremony. The store, located at 30015 Three Notch Road, will officially open to customers on August 21.
“We are very proud to bring Weis Markets to the Charlotte Hall community and welcome local families to experience our commitment to quality, value and convenience,” said Jonathan Weis, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Weis Markets. “This new store reflects our latest design. We wanted to create a gathering place that is uniquely suited to Charlotte Hall … It will offer enhanced convenience, exceptional products and great prices that customers expect and deserve.”

Store Features and Design
The Charlotte Hall store will employ more than 185 full- and part-time workers and offer a broad range of departments and services. These include a produce market with an extensive organic selection, full-service seafood and meat counters, fresh sushi prepared daily, a deli with sliced meats, cheeses and heat-and-serve meals, and a Starbucks kiosk with mobile ordering.
The location also includes a drive-thru pharmacy, a six-pump Gas N’ Go fuel center where customers can redeem Weis Rewards points for discounts, and a wide assortment of organic and natural products.
The building incorporates sustainability measures such as natural daylighting, energy-efficient LED fixtures, and CO2-based refrigeration systems that use less environmentally harmful refrigerants than traditional supermarket systems.

Digital and Pricing Programs
Customers will have access to Weis 2 Go Online, which allows online ordering with curbside pickup or delivery, with groceries hand-selected by trained personal shoppers. The store will also feature Weis Markets’ pricing initiatives, including its Price Lock program on seasonal items, its Low, Low Price program covering more than 10,000 products, and weekly Hot Buys promotions.
Community Engagement
In conjunction with the opening, Weis Markets donated $1,500 each to Charlotte Hall Veterans Homes, Chopticon High School, and the Mechanicsville Fire Department. The company also contributed $10,000 to the Maryland Food Bank to support hunger relief efforts in St. Mary’s County.
The donations reflect Weis Markets’ year-round giving program, which supports community hunger initiatives, veterans’ organizations, pet shelters and other local nonprofits.
With the Charlotte Hall opening, Weis Markets continues to expand its presence in Maryland, where it now operates more than 50 locations.
