NEW YORK — Whole Foods Market has opened its first smaller format store, dubbed Whole Foods Market Daily Shop, in the heart of New York City’s Lenox Hill neighborhood. The 9,101-square-foot store, located at 1175 Third Avenue on Manhattan's Upper East Side, is designed to appeal to on-the-go customers seeking high-quality, fresh ingredients in a streamlined, convenient setting.

“Opening this first Whole Foods Market Daily Shop location – which was specially tailored for the needs of an urban market like New York City – marks a special milestone for our company,” said Christina Minardi, executive vice president of growth and development for Whole Foods Market and Amazon.

Minardi adds that, having operated in New York City for more than 20 years, Whole Foods continues to innovate in a way that blends its core commitment to quality with the unique pace of city life.

The Lenox Hill location offers more than 400 local products from over 100 Northeast-based suppliers, including beloved New York brands like Family Farmstead Dairy and The White Moustache. The store will also debut new local favorites, including Jack & Friends and TALEA Beer Co.'s exclusive Lenox Hill Pilsner, available only at this location.

Whole Foods Market Daily Shop also introduces the city’s first Juice & Java venue, offering a variety of freshly made coffee, tea, juices, and smoothies, alongside a selection of health-forward grab-and-go meals. Customers can also enjoy single-serve hot meals, seasonal produce, and Whole Foods’ signature 365 brand, all curated to fit seamlessly into the fast-paced lives of New Yorkers.

“As a lifelong New Yorker, I am thrilled to welcome customers into our first Whole Foods Market Daily Shop,” said Timeisha Brisco, store leader at the Lenox Hill location. “We look forward to providing a quick, convenient shopping experience that meets all our quality standards.”

According to the company, Whole Foods’ commitment to quality remains intact in the Daily Shop format. Every item in the store adheres to the company’s strict standards, which prohibit ingredients such as hydrogenated fats and high-fructose corn syrup in food items and require beauty products to comply with Whole Foods’ clean body care standards.

This store opening is just the beginning of the Whole Foods Market Daily Shop expansion, the company said, noting that upcoming locations in New York include the Manhattan neighborhoods of the East Village and Hell’s Kitchen.
