ALACHUA, Fla. — Winn-Dixie celebrated the grand opening of its newest Florida store in Alachua on Saturday, Oct. 3, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community donations, giveaways and family-friendly activities throughout the day.
Located at 15560 NW U.S. Highway 441, Suite 200, the new store reflects Winn-Dixie’s continued investment in its home state, bringing a fresh shopping experience, convenient meal solutions and everyday value to customers in Alachua and surrounding communities.
Grand opening festivities began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by the store opening to customers. During the ceremony, Winn-Dixie will present $500 donations to Santa Fe High School and Deeper Purpose Community Church & Outreach Ministries, underscoring the grocer’s commitment to supporting local organizations and strengthening the communities it serves.
The first 100 customers in line when the doors opened received a Winn-Dixie mystery gift card valued between $10 and $100.
Guests were invited to explore the new store while enjoying live DJ entertainment, product samples, giveaways and activities for children. Hourly prize raffles offered customers the chance to win a variety of prizes, including three $500 Winn-Dixie gift cards, a YETI cooler, a Masterbuilt 710 Wi-Fi Digital Electric Smoker and a Blackstone grill.
The new Alachua location features expanded fresh offerings, including a full-service deli, bakery, dedicated seafood department and extensive produce selection. Customers will find convenient meal solutions throughout the store, including freshly made sushi, ready-to-cook seafood through the Seafood Made Easy program and Winn-Dixie's signature Lip Lickin' Chicken.
Designed to reflect the needs and preferences of the local community, the store also offers a broad assortment of authentic Hispanic products across departments, including specialty meats, fresh bakery items and prepared favorites. Shoppers can choose from a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, organic produce and culturally relevant grocery staples, along with fresh seafood and USDA Choice meats.
