MINNEAPOLIS — Adrienne Costanzo, who started her Target career in 2004 as a frontline store leader, has built deep expertise across stores, human resources and merchandising. Now, as executive vice president and chief stores officer at Target, she is responsible for nearly 2,000 stores and a team of more than 350,000 members. Her focus is on evolving Target’s in-store experience to meet customers’ expectations while supporting the company’s continued growth.
“Our guests love our nearly 2,000 stores, and we want to stay ahead as their expectations continue to rise,” Costanzo says. “To do that, we will empower our team to focus on retail fundamentals and take care of our guests to deliver that only-at-Target experience.”
Under her leadership, Target is not only refining its in-store operations but also expanding its physical footprint, with plans to add about 300 stores over the next decade. At the same time, Costanzo is focused on transforming store capabilities to simplify tasks and enhance efficiency, making operations more seamless for team members. “We know none of that is possible without our amazing team,” she emphasizes. “We will continue to invest in their development and career pathways so they can grow alongside Target.”
For Costanzo, leading Target’s stores is more than a job — it’s a personal passion. “Stores and our Stores team are the heart of Target, and there’s no place that brings me more energy than being in our stores and talking to team members,” she says. With a deep commitment to both guests and employees, Costanzo is ensuring that Target stores remain vibrant, welcoming and ever-evolving destinations.
