SANTIAGO, Chile — Walmart has appointed Annie Walker as CEO of Walmart Chile, marking a new chapter for the retailer’s South American operations.

Walker announced the move in a LinkedIn post, saying she is “honored” to assume the leadership role after more than two decades at Walmart in the United States. Most recently, she led the retailer’s East Business Unit, overseeing store operations across a significant portion of the country.
In her message, Walker thanked colleagues across Walmart U.S. and emphasized the importance of the company’s people-focused culture.
A recent visit to Chile reinforced her enthusiasm for the opportunity, she said, highlighting the country's retail network, well-known local brands, and Walmart Chile’s workforce of more than 41,000 associates serving communities nationwide.
“The opportunity to help even more families save money and live better is enormous, and I couldn’t be more excited,” Walker wrote.
Addressing Walmart Chile associates in Spanish, Walker said she was impressed by the country, its people, and the passion shown in stores during her visit. She added that she looks forward to meeting employees across the organization in the coming months.
Walmart Chile operates a nationwide network of supermarkets and retail formats, serving customers from major metropolitan areas to remote regions. Walker's appointment comes as the retailer continues to focus on growth, operational excellence and the customer experience across its international markets.
