Circle K revamps Inner Circle loyalty program with visit-based rewards

Starting September 2, the new program will give members a "Visit" for each qualifying purchase, moving from points to a simpler system that rewards routine stops.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Circle K is overhauling its Inner Circle loyalty program, introducing a new visit-based rewards structure to encourage more frequent trips and deepen customer engagement across fuel and in-store purchases.

Beginning September 2, the redesigned program will reward members with a "Visit" for each qualifying purchase, shifting the emphasis from traditional points accumulation to a simpler model that recognizes routine stops. Customers earn a Visit with a qualifying fuel purchase of at least five gallons or an in-store transaction of $3 or more by entering their phone number at the pump or at checkout. Lottery purchases and alcohol purchases in California are excluded.

The updated platform lets members redeem rewards at various milestones, giving shoppers the flexibility to claim smaller rewards sooner or keep accumulating Visits for larger savings. Rewards start at five Visits with offers such as a free Polar Pop or snack, increase to free coffee or a Monster energy drink at 10 Visits, and can ultimately be redeemed for discounts of up to $1 per gallon on fuel.

Circle K executives say the redesign reflects consumer demand for a loyalty experience that is easier to understand and rewards customers' existing shopping behaviors.

“Every visit counts, and now every visit pays off,” said Rick Rasor, vice president of Loyalty & Digital Experience at Circle K. "We’ve been listening to our members, and they told us loyalty programs shouldn’t feel like one more thing to manage. That’s why the redesigned Inner Circle rewards program is built around how they already shop, rewarding them for the stops they already make and giving them an opportunity for even greater savings the more they visit and shop at Circle K.”

The retailer has also integrated personalized challenges into the program, giving members opportunities to earn bonus Visits based on their shopping habits. Progress can be tracked in real time through the Circle K app, where members can browse available rewards, activate offers, and monitor their progress toward future redemptions.

For existing Inner Circle members, no additional action is required. Current accounts and phone numbers will automatically transfer to the new platform, and members who have not yet redeemed their introductory fuel offer will retain any remaining eligible discounts.

Circle K is also using the relaunch to attract new members. Customers who enroll will receive 25 cents off per gallon on their first five fuel purchases. Enrollment is available through the Circle K app, online, by texting "JOIN" to 25050, or by entering a mobile phone number during a qualifying transaction to receive a sign-up link.

To promote the new program, Circle K is launching several limited-time incentives. All registered Inner Circle members will receive double Visits on September 2, accelerating their path to rewards. In addition, members will save 5 cents per gallon on every qualifying fuel purchase from August 25 to October 31.

The loyalty revamp reflects the growing importance of digital engagement in the convenience channel, where retailers continue to invest in personalized rewards, mobile apps and fuel incentives to increase customer frequency, strengthen retention and drive larger basket sizes. By tying rewards to every qualifying visit rather than complex point calculations, Circle K aims to create a simpler, more engaging loyalty experience that encourages customers to choose its stores for both everyday convenience purchases and fuel fill-ups.
