Edgewell reportedly rejects unsolicited takeover bid

Yellow Wood Partners said to seek additions to its portfolio of consumer brands.

SHELTON, Conn. – Edgewell Personal Care has reportedly rejected an unsolicited takeover offer from a private equity firm, judging the bid as insufficient, unnamed sources familiar with the offer told Bloomberg News.

Boston-based Yellow Wood Partners reportedly offered $30 a share for the maker of personal care products including Schick razors and Bulldog sunscreens. Edgewell recently divested its feminine care business – home to brands including Playtex, Stayfree, Carefree, and o.b.

Yellow Wood Partners holds investments in mid-market consumer brands across categories such as personal care, beauty, food and beverage, and household products. Holdings include investments in Noxzema skin care, Beacon Wellness, and Chapstick lip balm.
