H-E-B opens first Dallas County store in Irving

IRVING, Texas — H-E-B has opened its first Dallas County store, expanding its growing presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with a new location in Irving.

The 112,000-square-foot store at 2351 W. Interstate 635 serves shoppers in Irving, Coppell, Grapevine, and West Dallas. The opening marks H-E-B’s 13th store in the DFW market and expands the retailer’s regional footprint, which also includes three Joe V’s Smart Shop locations and six Central Market stores.

The store features a drive-thru True Texas BBQ restaurant, H-E-B Curbside and Home Delivery services, a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru, and expanded prepared-food offerings. H-E-B also debuted Masala House at the Irving location, a new in-house meal line featuring chicken masala, butter chicken, naan bread, and chutney dips.

Additional features include an extensive selection of international foods, fresh sushi and Asian grill offerings, expanded organic produce selections, premium meat offerings, a large beer and wine department, and dedicated health, beauty and pet care sections.

The Irving store employs more than 600 workers and incorporates sustainability features such as CO2 refrigeration systems and LED lighting.

To commemorate the opening, H-E-B donated $40,000 to local nonprofits, with $10,000 grants awarded to the Irving Family Advocacy Center, Level Pathways, the Coppell ISD Education Foundation and Canine Companions.

The Irving opening continues H-E-B’s rapid DFW expansion. The retailer has previously opened stores in Plano, McKinney, Allen, Alliance, Mansfield, Melissa, Prosper, Rockwall, Forney, and Frisco, and has announced future locations in Murphy, Walsh Ranch, Carrollton, and Denton. H-E-B also owns a Dallas site at Hillcrest Road and LBJ Freeway, where it plans to build its first store within the city of Dallas.
