LONDON — iRomaScents has been named the winner of the Best Technology & Digital Innovation category at the HPCi Media Cosmetics Business Innovation Awards, recognizing the company’s AI-powered fragrance discovery platform.
The platform is designed to transform how consumers discover and purchase fragrances by combining artificial intelligence, personalization, automated sampling, and data-driven consumer insights. According to the company, the technology helps brands create more engaging fragrance experiences and improve customer understanding and conversion.
Award judge Guive Balooch, who serves as Head of Augmented Beauty & Open Innovation at L'Oréal Group, cited the platform’s ability to address longstanding challenges in fragrance retailing.
“I chose them for a few reasons,” Balooch said. “The first is that it uses AI-guided discoveries as an experience that can really uplift the retailer today, where you can have better sampling, you can solve sensory fatigue, hygiene and conversion that can be a challenge in the category of fragrance, and it’s very personalized.”
He added that the platform can significantly improve conversion rates and is already operating in markets worldwide.
“And at the end, it can lift the conversion from 5 to 90%. It’s truly amazing and very difficult to do this in this category. And it’s live all over the world, in Brazil, in Japan, in Dubai, so it’s really working in the field,” Balooch said.
iRomaScents said the recognition highlights AI-driven personalization’s growing role in the beauty and fragrance sectors, as brands seek new ways to connect consumers with products and to generate actionable insights from the shopping experience.
