SAXTON, Pa. — The new Saxton GIANT officially opened its doors for business this morning, Friday, May 1 at 509 Main St. here.
GIANT announced the acquisition of Saxton Market in February. The store was temporarily closed to complete minor remodels, install new signage, and undertake an overall décor update.
The Saxton GIANT operates from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., seven days a week. Saxton customers will find GIANT’S signature fresh departments, including a market-feel produce department, meat and seafood, deli with pre-sliced meats and cheese plus deli salads, dairy, and bakery featuring self-serve donuts. For today’s busy families, the Saxton store features a larger hot food program, including self-serve rotisserie chicken and the addition of self-checkouts. GIANT Direct is also available, which gives customers the opportunity to order their groceries online for easy curbside pick-up.
As part of GIANT’s commitment to making a difference in the local communities it serves, the Saxton GIANT is celebrating its opening by donating to the following organizations that are building healthier communities – Center for Community Action – Hopewell Food Pantry, Saxton Volunteer Fire Company, Saxton Burrough Police Department, Tussey Mountain School District, and Tussey Mountain Little League.
