WASHINGTON – Last week, the National Retail Federation sent a key vote letter to congressional leaders in strong support of the Senate Budget Committee’s reconciliation package. NRF Executive Vice President of Government Relations David French has issued a statement on the House passage of the FY2025 budget resolution.

Statement in full:

“The House passage of the budget resolution is a critical step toward providing continued tax certainty for American families and businesses. Without congressional action, millions of Americans will face a tax hike next year. Today’s vote shows a commitment to preventing that outcome and continuing pro-growth tax policy.

“The reconciliation process will allow Congress to move forward with a simple majority to protect the lower rates, increased standard deduction and small business incentives that have helped fuel economic growth since 2017.

“NRF urges Congress to move swiftly to ensure a stable and competitive tax code that supports continued economic opportunity.”
