WASHINGTON — The National Retail Federation has named former federal prosecutor Marissa Bostick senior vice president and general counsel, bringing an attorney with experience at Amazon, the Motion Picture Association and in private practice to the retail trade group’s senior leadership.
Bostick will advise NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay and the organization’s board of directors on legal, regulatory, and reputational risks. She will also lead NRF’s work on litigation, governance, antitrust compliance, tax-exempt and political-law matters, intellectual property, contracting, privacy, and cybersecurity.
“Marissa’s diverse experience as a prosecutor and litigator in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, combined with her work representing a global retail and technology company, makes her an ideal choice for this role,” said Matthew Shay, president and CEO of NRF. “Her insights and perspective will be indispensable as we work to achieve NRF’s policy and legal goals on behalf of our members.”
Bostick most recently served as the inaugural partner and leader of Sideman & Bancroft’s Washington, D.C., office, where she handled legal issues affecting businesses and organizations.
Earlier in her career, Bostick served as the global head of litigation at the Motion Picture Association of America and was a founding member of Amazon’s Counterfeit Crimes Unit. She also served as a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York and is a Fulbright Scholar.

Bostick began her legal career at O’Melveny & Myers in New York after earning her J.D. from Columbia Law School.
