The project will create 100 new jobs and enhance the company’s U.S. manufacturing base.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Procter & Gamble (P&G) is set to expand its Iowa City Oral-B facility with a $150 million investment that will create 100 new jobs, according to reporting by the Iowa City Press-Citizen.

The project will include a new 150,000-square-foot building, estimated to cost $75 million, as well as an additional $75 million for advanced production equipment. The addition will bring a new production line to the site on Lower Muscatine Road, where Oral-B currently employs about 600 workers.

New positions tied to the expansion will include 95 manufacturing technicians earning $31.75 per hour and five project managers earning $41 per hour, according to city council documents.

To support the project, the Iowa Economic Development Authority awarded P&G $5.25 million in tax benefits through its High Quality Jobs Program. The Iowa City Council also approved a local property tax exemption that will phase out over a five-year period.

Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2026.
