TUCSON — MMR and Chain Drug Review have partnered with ECRM for Founders’ Innovation Day, an exclusive event designed for D2C and emerging brands to make the most of their potential at food, drug and mass retailers, and from e-commerce.

The “day of insight, connection and growth” is being held on June 3 from 1 to 9 at JW Marriott Starr Pass, in Tucson.

“In the ever-changing world of retail, both start-up and founder lead brands are eager to connect with leading omnichannel retailers,” says Wayne Bennett, senior vice president of retail at ECRM/RangeMe. “Our Founders’ Innovation Day bridges this gap, offering the support and connections needed for emerging brands to thrive in the retail market.”

The event is an opportunity for founders and leaders from both emerging and D2C brands “to come and immerse themselves in a day of education, insights and networking,” says ECRM executive vice president Sarah Davidson.

The one-day gathering is attached to the ECRM Skin, Bath, Cosmetics Natural & Clean Beauty session and will feature industry leaders and experts discussing how to scale at retail. Brands will be able to showcase their products and network with 800 other beauty industry professionals from retailers, distributors, brokers and suppliers.

“This is ideal for brands evaluating how to get into retail, or that are just starting off in retail,” says Davidson. “Ideal attendees are the companies’ leaders, founders and executives.”

The event differs from ECRM sessions, composed of meetings between buyers and sellers, for brands ready to pitch and talk to retailers. Founders’ Innovation Day is focused on education, networking and exposure.

“As retailers grow more interested in small brands fighting for the spotlight, we thought as we have the industry together at the ECRM Skin, Bath, Cosmetics Natural & Clean Beauty session, we needed to add an educational feature to help the emerging and D2C brands grow,” says Davidson. “We are really excited about our speaker lineup. We will be kicking things off with a presentation around funding and finance from breaking into a retailer to scaling as things start going well. We will also have a presentation on logistics and how to actually get your product to shelf, and even hear from a few brands and retailers on how to get the ‘yes’ and ‘best practices’ in working with buyers.”
