Ship.com launches AI shipping tools for online sellers

The new tools automate shipping tasks for online sellers and allow developers to embed shipping capabilities into AI applications.

OLEAN, N.Y. — Ship.com has introduced two artificial intelligence tools to automate shipping and fulfillment tasks for e-commerce sellers and to enable developers to incorporate shipping capabilities into AI-powered commerce applications.

SHIP AI is a shipping management tool that analyzes incoming orders, recommends shipping options, identifies potential order problems and prepares shipments for processing. SHIP MCP, meanwhile, makes more than 35 Ship.com shipping capabilities available through the Model Context Protocol for use with Claude and other AI applications.

“A general chatbot gives you an answer. SHIP AI does the work,” said Joe DiSorbo, founder and CEO of Ship.com. “It works like a shipping manager sitting next to you, not another chat bot waiting for the right question.”

SHIP AI can determine package details, compare shipping options, correct addresses, flag inconsistencies and prepare multiple orders for shipment. Sellers can also use the system to update dashboards, run reports and analyze shipping costs and delivery times.

The company said the technology is designed to shift sellers away from manually processing individual orders toward reviewing and approving AI-prepared work. Financial transactions remain under the seller’s control by default, including purchasing shipping labels, adding insurance and reloading account balances.

“We built the software to work like a new employee,” DiSorbo said. “It can analyze the orders, identify the problems, and recommend solutions, but ultimately the user decides how much authority to give it. As the system learns and becomes more reliable, the user can opt in to more SHIP AI automation.”

SHIP AI has been available to Ship.com users since August 11. The company said more than 30% of orders were purchased through the tool during its first week in beta.

Ship.com is also extending its technology beyond its own platform with SHIP MCP. The integration gives developers access to more than 35 shipping functions, including rating, label creation and tracking, that can be incorporated directly into AI applications and agentic commerce workflows.

“We’ve found that the first customers have embedded Ship.com into their own AI application, with orders rated, labeled, and tracked. The first steps in fully autonomous agentic commerce,” DiSorbo said.

Ship.com provides shipping and fulfillment technology for e-commerce businesses, marketplaces and commerce platforms. Its integrations include Walmart Marketplace and Shopify.
