Simbe expands leadership team as retailers scale AI in stores

Claudia Molina joins Simbe as vice president of client success while two executives take on new FMI roles.

SAN FRANCISCO — Simbe has expanded its leadership team and industry involvement as the shelf-intelligence company looks to support retailers deploying AI-powered technology across broader store networks.

Claudia Molina has been named vice president of client success, while senior vice president of marketing Caitlin Allen and senior vice president of strategy and client success Benjamin Bond have taken on new leadership roles with FMI.

Molina will work with Simbe’s retail customers on enterprise deployments and long-term transformation programs as the company’s technology expands to hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of locations. She previously held leadership roles at Meta, JPMorgan and American Express, focused on customer strategy, operational transformation and enterprise growth.

“Physical AI offers an entirely new operating layer for retail,” said Brad Bogolea, CEO and co-founder of Simbe. “The opportunity extends beyond identifying what’s happening on a shelf. Trusted, real-time ground truth of the store enables retailers to orchestrate actions across channels. Claudia brings the strategic and enterprise experience to help our clients realize that value at scale.”

Simbe is also increasing its involvement with FMI as food retailers explore how AI and improved store-level data can improve operations.

Allen has been appointed to FMI’s Daunting Data Dilemma Industry Task Force, which focuses on issues such as retail data quality, interoperability, and real-time operational visibility.

Bond has joined FMI’s Fresh Food Leadership Council, where he will contribute to initiatives focused on forecasting, food waste reduction, and visibility across fresh operations.

“We’re pleased to welcome Caitlin Allen and Benjamin Bond to these important industry leadership roles, where their combination of retail expertise, technology leadership and operational perspective will strengthen the work of our committees,” said Doug Baker, vice president of industry relations at FMI.

Simbe said that accurate store-level information on product availability, location, pricing, promotions, and inventory is increasingly important as retailers use AI to automate and improve decision-making.

The company’s platform integrates robotics, computer vision, RFID, fixed sensors, edge AI, and enterprise software to deliver a continuously updated view of store conditions. Its Tally robots and related technology are deployed across thousands of retail locations in 10 countries.
