Vinima Shekhar guides the evolution of beauty care at Walmart, bringing a sense of excitement and discovery — usually associated with specialty stores — to the mass market.
“My focus is transforming beauty at Walmart into an experience that blends access, authority and innovation,” said Shekhar, who was named vice president of merchandising for beauty in August 2024, after serving for almost two and a half years in the same capacity in the wellness category. “Through our Beauty 2.0 evolution, we’re elevating the experience across channels — modernizing how customers discover and shop beauty, while staying true to everyday value. We’re operating more agilely, marrying speed with scale, and using AI and data to sharpen decision making so we can bring customers the brands and solutions they need, want and love.”
Beauty 2.0 is designed to elevate the category and enhance the customer experience.
“We’ve accelerated the transformation of beauty at Walmart into a true destination — expanding premium and clinical credibility; strengthening key partnerships; and launching highly sought-after brands that resonate with today’s customer,” Shekhar explained.
Shekhar asserts that the ongoing work will benefit all stakeholders: “I’m most energized by building an ecosystem where everyone wins — developing high-performing teams, helping suppliers grow responsibly at scale and delivering meaningful impact for customers. Watching emerging talent step into bigger leadership roles and seeing brands unlock new growth through Walmart’s platform is incredibly rewarding.”
