NANTERRE, France — Vusion has signed an agreement to acquire In-Store Media, a Barcelona-based company that designs, deploys and monetizes advertising networks in physical stores.
The proposed acquisition would combine Vusion’s connected-store technology with ISM’s advertising expertise and relationships with retailers and consumer brands. The companies plan to develop a digital in-store retail media platform capable of delivering measurable, real-time advertising activations.
“The next big digital media is the physical store,” said Thierry Gadou, chairman and CEO of Vusion. “Retail media has already transformed the economics of online commerce. The next frontier is in stores, where most shopper traffic remains and decisions of purchase are made.”
ISM operates in nine countries across Europe, Latin America and Asia. The company works with more than 90 retail banners and 1,600 brands, offering more than 50 print and digital media solutions. It generated approximately €120 million in revenue in 2025, according to Vusion.
The transaction reflects growing interest in extending retail media beyond ecommerce platforms and into stores, where retailers can reach shoppers closer to the point of purchase. Vusion said the combination would help retailers generate advertising revenue from store traffic while giving brands greater insight into the relationship between media exposure, shopper engagement and purchases.
“In-Store Media has developed itself by helping retailers and brands activate the full potential of physical stores,” said Fernando de Vicente, CEO of In-Store Media. “Joining Vusion would allow us to accelerate this mission with the technology, scale and global footprint required to digitize in-store retail media at a new level.”
Vusion provides artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and data-driven technology to more than 350 retail groups worldwide. Its solutions include electronic shelf systems, operational tools, local ecommerce capabilities and retail media technology.
The transaction has been approved by Vusion’s board of directors but remains subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Vusion expects to finance the acquisition with debt. Financial terms were not disclosed.
