SUNBURY, Pa. – Weis Markets celebrated the grand opening of its Middletown store with a preview event and ribbon cutting. The new 64,000 square-foot store, which is part of the Bayberry Town Center development and located at 935 McKim Street, is the 4th Weis Markets store to open in Delaware and the first new construction for the company in the state. The store will open to the public on November 13.

"We are proud to bring Weis Markets to the Middletown community and welcome local families to experience our commitment to quality, value and convenience," said Jonathan Weis, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Weis Markets. “We're excited to open our doors and be part of the community. We look forward to serving Middletown families and visitors for years to come."
The store will employ more than 185 new full- and part-time associates and feature the latest in innovative store design, including expansive fresh departments, a pharmacy, and a grocery department with excellent variety, as well as a fuel center. Additionally, the store will offer Weis 2 Go Online ordering with curbside pick-up and delivery. Customers can order online and have their groceries handpicked by trained personal shoppers.
The store design takes advantage of natural light, which reduces the need for electrical lighting during the day. The sustainable design focus is further complemented by energy-efficient LED lighting and CO2 refrigeration systems that use significantly less harmful refrigerants compared to most supermarkets.
“The opening of Weis Markets marks a significant milestone for Bayberry Town Center and The Village of Bayberry,” said Jay Sonecha, President of Blenheim Group. “From the beginning, our vision has been to create a charming community destination where residents can shop and gather close to home. Weis Markets’ presence as our grocery anchor brings that vision to life and sets the tone for the vibrant retail and dining experiences still to come.”
Bayberry Town Center is a mixed-use destination with 280,000 square feet of retail and office space within The Village of Bayberry, a 1,500-acre master-planned community north of Middletown. The center will include a mix of restaurants, shops, and services designed to enhance daily life for residents and the surrounding area.
Middletown customers will also benefit from Weis’ new Price Lock program on high-demand seasonal items, the Low, Low Price program, providing low prices on more than 10,000 products, as well as its weekly Hot Buys program. Together, these programs enable customers to receive the lowest everyday prices on thousands of items.
In celebration of the grand opening and to thank the community for the warm welcome, Weis Markets presented $1,500 donations to local organizations, including Crystal Run Elementary School, Our Daily Bread, and Odessa Fire Company. Additionally, the Food Bank of Delaware received a donation of $17,000 as part of Weis Markets Fight Hunger program.
