Magnacca left Walgreens in 2013 to become CEO of RadioShack Corp., which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year. He had been promoted from senior vice president to executive VP of Walgreens shortly before he left the company.

A 20-year-plus retail industry veteran, Magnacca joined Duane Reade in 2008 as senior VP and chief merchandising officer. He was later promoted to executive VP and then president following Duane Reade’s acquisition by Walgreens in 2010. He was named Walgreens’ president of daily living products and solutions the following year.

Before joining Duane Reade, Magnacca was vice president of marketing and merchandising for Loblaw Cos. and executive VP of merchandising and category management for Shoppers Drug Mart.

“I am truly excited to join this terrific business,” said Magnacca. “Massage Envy is a pioneer and leader in the wellness space. The leadership team, our franchisees and the Massage Envy community have done an outstanding job in developing the brand. I look forward to leading the team as we position the business for future and further success.”
