CALABASAS, Calif. — Garcoa Inc. will debut an AI-powered product innovation platform at PLMA 2026 to help retailers and brands identify private-label opportunities and advance new concepts toward commercialization.
The new GIG FormulaLab IQ platform combines artificial intelligence with Garcoa Innovation Group's capabilities to identify emerging consumer trends, explore gaps within product categories, and generate potential product concepts.
Garcoa said the platform is intended to shift private-label development from focusing on lower-cost alternatives to creating products that offer greater differentiation and respond to changing consumer needs.
“Private label shouldn’t just cost less. It should offer more,” said Greg Rubin, CEO of Garcoa. “Instead of asking, ‘How can we make this product cheaper?’ we’re asking, ‘How can we make this category better?’ GIG FormulaLab IQ helps us uncover those opportunities, and the Garcoa Innovation Group gives our partners the expertise and capabilities to turn them into products consumers actually want.”
Once the platform identifies an opportunity, Garcoa’s team can help develop it using the company’s in-house chemistry and laboratory capabilities, along with expertise in consumer insights, product development, creative, marketing, and commercialization.
The approach gives retailers and brands a more integrated path from identifying potential white space in a category to developing a market-ready product.
Garcoa said the combination of GIG FormulaLab IQ, its internal innovation team, and its network of manufacturing partners is intended to help retailers develop more differentiated private-label offerings and accelerate the process from initial concept to shelf.
At the 2026 Private Label Trade Show in Chicago, the company will demonstrate GIG FormulaLab IQ and showcase the Garcoa Innovation Group at booth H1705.
