A&P names new merchandising, marketing, logistics exec

MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P has appointed Tom O’Boyle to the new position of executive vice president with responsibility for merchandising, marketing, supply and logistics.

A&P has appointed Tom O’Boyle to the new position of executive vice president with responsibility for merchandising, marketing, supply and logistics.

O’Boyle, who reports to president and chief executive officer Sam Martin, is tasked with developing cohesive synergy between the three functional areas.

"Tom is an expert merchant with a proven track record of aligning merchandising offers with exciting marketing programs to meet customers’ needs," said Martin. "His appointment completes my dynamic executive management team, which will lead our company’s turnaround initiative."

O’Boyle, a 25-year industry veteran, joined A&P from Sears Holdings LLC, where he was senior vice president and president of food, drug and pharmacy. Prior to that he was senior vice president of merchandising and marketing for Albertsons Inc.
