MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings, Inc. will open a new membership warehouse club in Waxahachie, Texas, on May 8, marking another step in the retailer’s expansion into the state.
The new location, at 2180 N. U.S. Highway 77, will be accompanied by a limited-time fuel promotion as the company looks to attract new members. On May 6, the club’s gas station will offer regular fuel at $2 per gallon for one day only, with a 30-gallon limit. The promotion is part of a broader push tied to BJ’s Texas market entry.
Prospective customers can sign up for memberships ahead of the opening, with introductory offers starting at $20 for a one-year term. The promotion also includes a 10-cent-per-gallon fuel discount for the first six months, which can be combined with the one-day gas offer.
The Waxahachie club will offer BJ’s core assortment, including fresh foods, produce, full-service deli items, bakery goods and general merchandise such as home décor, electronics and seasonal items. The company emphasizes a “treasure-hunt” shopping experience, a hallmark of the warehouse club format, alongside pricing it says can reach up to 25% below traditional grocery stores.

In addition to retail operations, the company is positioning the new club as part of its broader community engagement strategy. BJ’s said it will partner with North Texas Food Bank to donate perishable items such as produce, meat and dairy on an ongoing basis.
“Through our partnership with BJ’s Wholesale Club, we’re able to further our mission of closing the hunger gap in North Texas by providing access to nutritious food,” said Trisha Cunningham, president and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank.
The company noted that it has worked with Feeding America for more than 15 years, contributing more than 165 million meals through its network of food banks.
BJ’s is also highlighting its omnichannel capabilities as part of the new store launch. Members will have access to curbside pickup, in-club pickup, same-day delivery and shipping via its website. In-store shoppers can use the company’s ExpressPay feature within its mobile app to scan items and bypass traditional checkout lines.
Additional membership benefits include a 100% money-back guarantee, the ability to combine BJ’s coupons with select manufacturers’ coupons, and access to discounted fuel through the BJ’s Gas network and Fuel Savers Program.
Headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts, BJ’s Wholesale Club operates 264 clubs and 205 gas stations across 22 states. The company has been accelerating its geographic expansion in recent years, with Texas representing a key growth market.
