Kroger Co. has tapped company veteran Joe Grieshaber to serve as president of its Dillon Food Stores division, which operates 91 supermarkets in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
Grieshaber, 52, replaces John Bays, who is retiring after 42 years with the grocer.
"Joe’s merchandising and management experience will serve our associates and customers well," said Kroger president and chief operating officer Rodney McMullen. "We look forward to Joe’s leadership at Dillons as we continue to focus on improving our customers’ overall shopping experience."
Grieshaber began his career with Kroger in 1983 as a store manager trainee in Nashville. He most recently served as group vice president of perishables merchandising and procurement for Kroger, a position he has held since 2003. In that role he was responsible for fresh and natural foods at all Kroger stores.
