CLICHY, France — L’Oréal is expanding its luxury beauty portfolio through a new 50-year worldwide exclusive licensing agreement with Kering for Gucci’s fragrances and beauty products.
The agreement, announced Tuesday, follows Kering’s decision to redeem Coty’s Gucci Beauty license early. Subject to regulatory approvals, L’Oréal will assume responsibility for developing, marketing, and distributing Gucci Beauty products worldwide beginning July 1, 2027.
The companies said they will collaborate over the next year to ensure a seamless transition and maintain business continuity until the license officially transfers.
The addition of Gucci Beauty further strengthens L’Oréal’s presence in the prestige beauty market, a key growth category for retailers as demand for premium fragrances, cosmetics and skincare continues to expand.
“I am truly excited by the opportunity to welcome Gucci Beauty within the L’Oréal roster of brands with one year anticipation,” said Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal. “It is the start of a 50-year journey, a significant additional growth engine for L’Oréal and new milestone in our partnership with Kering.”
Cyril Chapuy, president of L’Oréal Luxe, said Gucci’s distinctive identity complements the company’s luxury portfolio and positions the brand for long-term growth.
“The arrival of this iconic brand adds a unique, highly complementary creative energy to our portfolio,” Chapuy said. “By fusing Gucci’s radical edge with our world-class engine, we are set to build a new multi-billion-euro house.”
