Olay unveils pro facial cleansing system

CINCINNATI — Olay has introduced the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System, which the Procter & Gamble Co. skin care brand said is first at-home facial cleansing tool that cleans and exfoliates as effectively as a professional cleansing system.

Olay has introduced the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System, which the Procter & Gamble Co. skin care brand said is first at-home facial cleansing tool that cleans and exfoliates as effectively as a professional cleansing system.

P&G said Wednesday that the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System provides gentle cleansing and exfoliation, removes dry skin cells and promotes cell turnover at a fraction of the $200 cost of a professional cleansing system with normal/dry cleanser sold in dermatologists’ offices.

The tool — designed by the Olay Professional Alliance for Skin Care Innovation, a group of renowned dermatologists and Olay scientists — features a micro-massaging action that maximizes the immediate hydrating effectiveness of the user’s anti-aging moisturizer, according to the company.

The Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System, available starting this month at a suggested retail price of $29.99, includes one battery-powered Olay Professional Pro-X Two-Speed Facial Cleansing Brush, one replaceable brush head attachment, a 0.68-ounce Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser and two AA batteries.

Also available are the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System Refill Kit, which includes two replaceable brush head attachments that retail for $9.99, and the 6-ounce full-size Olay Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser, which retails for $18.99.

"The secret to Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System’s effective cleansing is in the rotating bristles," commented Dr. Greg Hillebrand of P&G Beauty Science. "As the tool’s two-speed brush head spins on skin, individual bristles gently lift and remove dirt and dead skin from the surface, allowing for a clean, gentle rinse."
