Peapod extends reach to more than 40 communities

QUINCY, Mass. — Ahold NV’s Peapod online grocery arm has expanded its home and business delivery service to more than 40 new communities in the Northeast.

Ahold NV’s Peapod online grocery arm has expanded its home and business delivery service to more than 40 new communities in the Northeast.

Coverage has been extended to the entire borough of Queens, large sections of Staten Island and several Brooklyn neighborhoods as well as Jersey City, Bayonne and Hoboken, N.J.

In addition, Peapod service is now available in a number of beach locations, including Eastham, Mass. and Long Beach Island, N.J. The service is now available to more than 8 million households in the region.

"This expansion effort is in direct response to consumer requests," said Peg Merzbacher, director of marketing for Peapod.
