NEW YORK – Retailers, manufacturers, and industry partners are preparing for the second annual Store Brands Month, set for January 2026. The nationwide initiative is designed to spotlight private label products' quality, value, and uniqueness across all retail formats.
Extensive promotional efforts are underway, with companies developing in-store activations and social media campaigns to encourage consumer trial and build brand loyalty. The Store Brands Month committee has convened to outline engagement strategies, while the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) is providing resources, including logos, graphics, and promotional content, at storebrandsmonth.com.
The inaugural Store Brands Month in January 2025 was met with enthusiastic support from leading retailers, including Aldi, Albertsons, Dollar General, Wakefern, and others, alongside key manufacturers and service providers such as Advantage Solutions, Red Gold, and Subco Foods.
Store Brands Month highlights private label excellence in categories ranging from food and beverages to household and personal care, both in-store and online.
“The first annual Store Brands Month was a remarkable success with widespread participation, a testament to the spirit of collaboration and creativity that thrives in the private label industry,” said PLMA President Peggy Davies. “We look forward to even greater participation in 2026.”
Christina Fogal, Marketing Manager at Federated Group and a member of the Store Brands Month committee, stressed that manufacturer/broker/retailer partnerships are key to building momentum and contributing to the annual event's success.
“Store Brands Month is a win-win for the industry,” Fogal said during last week’s Store Brands Month informational webinar.
In parallel, PLMA is also preparing for its annual “Store Brands Marketplace” 2025 Private Label Trade Show, which will take place November 16–18 in Chicago. The show will feature thousands of innovative products and solutions across a wide array of consumer categories. Click here for more information.
